
Erik C. Jenkins

Erik C. Jenkins received his Juris Doctorate from California Western School of Law in January of 1997. For a number of years, Mr. Jenkins worked as a research attorney for the San Diego Superior Court. During his first three years with the court, Mr. Jenkins worked as the primary research attorney for the family law division of the Vista branch of the Superior Court. He also assisted the Probate Court with their legal research needs. This experience with the family court gave Mr. Jenkins an intimate familiarity with the complex and varied practice of family law.
In 2001, Mr. Jenkins transferred to work as an independent calendar research attorney for the Honorable Sheridan Reed. Mr. Jenkins assisted Judge Reed with a wide range of civil law and motion work, including several class actions, CEQA actions and complex civil litigation cases.
Mr. Jenkins left the Superior Court in 2002 to pursue a career in private practice. Mr. Jenkins has been lead-trial counsel in a number of certified class action discrimination lawsuits against large corporate defendants. He has obtained multiple seven figure outcomes in these cases. Work Mr. Jenkins and his team of lawyers have been able to accomplish has shaped the tide and course of discrimination law in California over the past decade including successful appeals of civil rights issues all the way to the California Supreme Court. Mr. Jenkins contributes a substantial portion of his time eradicating discrimination in California through these civil rights lawsuits.
Mr. Jenkins devotes additional efforts helping families navigate through divorce. Mr. Jenkins handles divorces, child and spousal support issues, custody disputes, domestic violence restraining orders, pre and post nuptial agreements and contempt actions. He also engages in private dispute resolution as both a mediator and in the collaborative divorce setting.
Mr. Jenkins is admitted to practice in all California state courts as well as the Federal District Courts for the Southern and Central Districts of California as well as the 9th Circuit Court of Appeal. He is also admitted to practice before the Intertribal Court of Southern California. Mr. Jenkins is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association, the La Jolla Bar Association and the North County Bar Association.
